"Three Gazanias"
I painted a clump of flowers growing in the horse trail by our neighbor's property where we lived in La Cresta, an area in hills above Murrieta, CA I call them Gazanias. The first work done, in watercolor, depicted seven flowers, along with a verse.
When I chose to paint these yellow and orange flowers for my Paint Party, it was decided to limit the number of flowers. I chose three. I did the background in a style I had seen another artist, Robert Willis, do in a watercolor.
Whenever I lead a class, my sample is done on 140 # watercolor paper, to same on space of the completed composition and also expense in the materials.
