After drawing a first version in charcoal for my Fundamentals of Art drawing class, I went on to create this 18” x 12” watercolor.  I love windmills of any kind, so duplicating the subject was not boring.  The original source for the windmill, a magazine photograph, was in black and white.  So I had to use my imagination as what the countryside in Spain would look like, where these windmills are found.

I like the way this one turned out.
