I started painting this during my Paint Party, showing my students how to create a multicolored sunset sky, palm trees, waves and water and reflections of light on the ocean.  As usual, while going around the classroom helping students, my artwork did not totally get finished.

     I finished "Tropical Island 2" somewhat later, in class with my art teacher and on my own.  Took that one to a music festival to paint plen air.  Painting outside was very pleasurable, even though acrylic paint dries quickly.

     "Tropical Island 2" version has been hanging in my family room as one of my favorite pieces.  Used it as the sample for a painting class.  I completed this composition during the pandemic 2020.

     Wanted to make the 14" x 11" acrylic on canvas panel "Tropical Island 3" different from all my other beach/tropical island scenes, so using several magazine photographs, I added rock formation, other palm trees, and dolphins silhouetted against the sunset.
