I love water lilies.  When I was a child my father built a small pond with water lilies in it, which we sometimes cut and brought in the house.

     I saw Jerry Yarnell on TV painting lily pads and flowers from his pond.  I painted a sample for my Paint Party class on watercolor paper.  Led my Paint Party class using this subject, in the Yarnell style.  Flowers and pads were large, as though we were close to the water.

     Later, I changed my mind about how I wanted to paint a lily pond, so I Googled it.  Found a technique I liked, so I painted the composition again, which became Lily Pond 3..  I turned  Lily Pond 2 over to demonstrate my painting technique in another class using same subject, which became this 16' x 20" acrylic on paper, one of my favorites.
