I painted this 16" x 20" acrylic on canvas in my art teacher, Rich Stergulz', class.  The original, a 5" x  7" watercolor, hung in my office in my home.  The scene is the view from the bedroom window in the house we used to live in.  It looks out on large boulders, native brush and trees, beyond to the layered hills of the watershed.  The sliver of a moon coming up makes the focal point.

     There were several small paintings in my personal collection, "Umbrellas", "Full Moon Over La Cresta" and this sunset, that I decided to paint in larger formats.

     After I completed a larger version of the full moon, I decided to do the same for "La Cresta Sunset."  I love how it turned out.  Entered this painting in Rich Stergulz' students' art show in April, 2013.  Made a few adjustments later, in 2017.

Did a little repainting on this one in September 2013.
