This 18” x 24” acrylic on watercolor paper of a back-lit forest started out as a Paint Party sample done first using Bob Davies’ colors and techniques.  My painting came out looking a little eerie until I found a magazine cover picture of a forest that I followed.

     In the re-painting, I made an addition of my own that neither source contained, ferns on the forest floor.  Had to figure out how to paint ferns, which I did pretty well with a fan brush.

     "Sunlit Forest" won Viewer’s Choice in December 2016 at Arts Council Menifee's gallery show reception at the community center where this composition hung.  I was thrilled, as this was the first time I had won recognition for my work.
